About me

As deputy editor of Newsday.com and head of emerging technologies, I oversee the day-to-day editorial direction of the website and mobile apps, direct social media strategy and manage special interactive and data projects. I lead Newsday's efforts to develop new Android and iOS apps as well as improve UX on existing ones, and designing experiences for emerging technologies such as wearables and VR. I also track analytics and traffic data, producing actionable reports and training Web and newsroom staff on best practices.

I also manage and train staff in breaking news coverage, mobile, desktop and social media strategy, and oversee planning of Award-winning interactive projects integrating multimedia content with investigative reporting to create powerful digital narratives.

I am an experienced multimedia producer, social media strategist and journalism professor, with specialized knowledge in web analytics, financial news and video journalism.

As an editor at TheStreet.com, I managed personal finance and wealth management content for a team of writers, managed social media accounts and produced original features, video packages and slideshows on new technology, consumer news and personal finance.

I have also produced video and multimedia for CNNMoney and FLYPMedia.com, both shooting and editing video, and spent two years writing magazine features for Iceland Review Magazine.
